non- tox products

what do you mean by 'non-tox' products?

Clean, non-tox and locally made skin care has been a core value of mine since I opened my own little spa back in 2006. I wanted something safe for moms, babies and everyone in between as I'd experienced my own personal healthy struggles that were impacted greatly by the chemical additives in our personal care products. Back in 2006 options were much harder to find than they are today! However, that has also come along with companies "green washing" their products to stay with the times so we have to dig even deeper. My focus is on making sure you have the safest experience possible when you book a treatment with me. Here is my philosophy:

Many of the ingredients, like preservatives and fragrances, in our personal care products are questionable. Some have been found to be carcinogens, others endocrine disruptors.  The most common defense I hear is that these ingredients are approved, therefore they must be safe for our bodies. My question is this, in what quantity are they deemed safe? One product? Perhaps. But what happens when everything from your body wash, body scrub and body lotion has them? Then your shampoo, conditioner and 3 styling aids, make-up, perfume and nail polish. The list goes on and on. In one product the quantity might be safe, but what happens when it's 10 or 20 products before you leave the bathroom with a fragranced plug-in or scented candle burning? Is is still safe?

Here at Curiouser + Curiouser I focus on clean, non-tox, locally made items to keep both you and I away from any unwanted ingredients. I start with unscented coconut + beeswax candles burning made in Edmonton by Misiyo, smudge the space with local sage and then add in a charcoal + HEPA air purifier to make sure the space is a clean for you as possible. Then I bring in my three favorite clean, locally made products to work with your values and to meet your specific skin care needs. Whether you're vegan or celiac, carnivore or PUFA free, allergenic or sensitive, whether you're a minimalist or you want David Rose's {Schitt's Creek reference} 9 step skin care regime, I've got you covered.

My goal is to be here to help you find what works best for YOU, your skin + your lifestyle. because I trust that you know more about what you need than I ever possibly could.
